What To Expect

Bayside is a faith community for everyone: you belong here!
Going to a new place can be intimidating and scary. How will I know where to go? Where do my kids go? What will happen if my kid has to go to the bathroom? What do I wear? We’ve asked those questions too. Know that we will make every effort to make your first trip to Bayside worry free! We look forward to hanging out with you and becoming friends!

1. Put your comfortable clothes on
Leave your tie on the rack and throw on your jeans. What you wear is not nearly as important as who you are!
2. Parking
Parking at Bayside is a breeze. Once you arrive at Rio Del Oro Elementary School, there’s plenty of space in the school’s main parking area.
3. The Entrance
As you make your way through the main doors, you’ll be greeted and handed a worship guide with all the latest happenings. Next, because there’s no outsiders at Bayside, stop and put on a name tag if you’d like…so we can get to know you. Then comes your first big decision of the day. “Do I stop for coffee and a pastry now, or take my children to the kid’s area?” There will be volunteers ready to serve you and answer any questions you have. Just look for the lanyards. The restrooms are located just outside the far doors after you enter. Plan on spending some time before or after making new friends!
4. Bayside Kidz
Bayside is a place your kids will love! Take the most important people in the building to the child check-in area through the far doors…just look for the signs and cones…and follow the crowd. Our best volunteers are helping with your little ones so that you can focus on having a great experience in the service. Every one of our kids volunteers and leaders has cleared a background check and will give 100% of their care to your kids while making it fun to learn about God’s love.
Early Childhood (birth – 3 yrs.)
Leaving your baby with a stranger can be tough, that’s why we’ve made every effort to make it comfortable and safe. When checking your baby and bag, you’ll receive a tag with a number that corresponds to your name. Please do not lose the tag as it is the only way to pick up your child. Should we need your assistance, we will alert you by placing your number on the screen so that you can leave the service.
FloodZone Kidz (pre-K – 5th grade)
This will be the best 75 minutes of your kids day! They will laugh, sing, dance, and learn with new friends and amazing leaders. Our goal is to help you lead your child into becoming a life long follower of Jesus. Since we only have a little over an hour with them a week, we often give you tools to help with ideas and to get you and your kids talking at home. Kids deserve our best and they will know that we believe in them. Our caring leaders will make sure that every kid feels welcomed and is connecting with other students.
5. Adult Celebration
Grab your coffee, pastry, and worship guide if you don’t already have one. Then, sit wherever you’re comfortable and don’t worry about having to stand up and say your name or be singled out. The countdown will let you know how much time you have if you need a coffee refill or need to hit the restroom before the service begins.
6. Music
We have worked hard to provide an experience where you can connect with God. In the Scriptures, God invites us to “taste and see that He is good.” We’ve designed the music on Sunday mornings to provide you that opportunity no matter where you’re at on your spiritual journey. Our band plays a contemporary, relevant style of music that you will enjoy. Their passion for God is contagious! Words to all of the songs will be on the screen for you to follow along. Bayside is a place of passion. You may see some people expressing their love to God by closing their eyes, sitting, clapping, and even raising their hands.
7. Teaching
Randy Sherwood has a style that is relational, conversational, and to the point. He is passionate about how the Bible leads us into truth and helps us with every day living. We will use video, music, and other creative tools to deepen the learning experience and make it interesting.
8. Closing
When you come to Bayside, it is our DEEP desire that you would experience the love and life of God during our gathering. We also understand that your life is full and busy. You will always be out and on your way by 11 o’clock.
