Outsourcing your faith
“Don’t Go To Church?” has been one of my favorite series that we’ve done at Bayside. A few weeks ago, I challenged everyone with the thought that it is God’s desire for us to grow, but our growth is our responsibility. Sadly, many Christians outsource their faith to their church. The Scriptures are full of instructions to the contrary.
This year more than ever, I wanna take responsibility for my growth and live out the way of Jesus in a more dynamic and life-giving way. The only way I can do that is through a vibrant relationship with Him. I can’t have that without the Scriptures being a regular part of my life.
So, here’s my challenge: this year, let’s get as many people from Bayside as we can to read through the Bible together!
I have a simple plan I’ll be posting that we can all follow together and all read the same thing on the same day. As part of that challenge, I will be blogging regularly about the passages we’re reading together and you can post your own thoughts and comments as well.
I’ll be back later this week with the final details.
